Young Explorers Enjoy a Day of Discovery at Sunderland Winter Gardens

Nursery and Reception pupils from Argyle House School had an exciting educational trip on Monday as they visited the Sunderland Winter Gardens and Museum.

The visit began with a tour of the museum, where the children explored various exhibits and immersed themselves in local history and culture. Following this, they took part in a fun-filled scavenger hunt around the Winter Gardens which sparked their curiosity and observational skills. A particular highlight was the animal display, where the children were especially fascinated by the exotic fish!

They then headed outdoors for a creative and interactive session where they got their hands dirty making clay models of garden animals and built nests to provide shelter for local wildlife. This hands-on activity allowed them to connect with nature while learning about different species and their habitats. Equipped with magnifying glasses, the children then set off on a mini-beast hunt, carefully searching through plants and undergrowth for tiny creatures.

The trip was a wonderful experience for the children, providing an engaging mix of education, creativity and fun!

At Argyle House School and Little Crickets Sunderland, we continue to encourage interactive learning experiences like these, helping to create a stimulating and enriching environment for its youngest learners.
